We support your development as a storyteller through a step-by-step approach. Each progression is divided into three stages. There are seminars to bring you up to speed on the current state of storytelling theory, followed by workshops to deepen the material we've introduced you to and begin collaborating with your group. Then we support you in facilitated or self-organized sessions that allow you to research and experiment with your material to return to your next stage of training as a student and collaborator.
Foundation

An introduction to the storytelling paradigm of our time, its virtues and its vices.
Barbara Anne Bauer takes you on a journey into the dark underworld of our contemporary commercial storytelling conventions.
Together you will explore the possibilities inherent in them, recognize familiar tropes, and learn to identify the parts that are no longer helpful or may even be untenable.
This seminar will take place online.

Practice

In this workshop, you start practical work on new and exciting ways of telling compelling and successful stories.
There will be an in-depth recap on the first day comprising the foundations, with added examples. Students who have previously taken the Foundation Webinar get a €50 discount.
In this partly peer-driven workshop, you will delve into your own area of research into sustainable storytelling, which will allow you to recognize remnants of the old paradigm, and transcend it.
Your evolution as a story-weaver will be facilitated and supported by somatic exercises, as well as group writing and solo writing spurts.
This workshop is held over a three-day weekend in presence only.
